Due to an agreement between the UK and Irish governments, UK citizens do not need a visa or work permit to live and work in Ireland.
In Ireland they drive on the left, the same as the UK. It is a fairly easy procedure to import your car to Ireland if you are staying long term. It will have to undergo an inspection (similar to an MOT) and be registered in Ireland with Irish plates. You may be required to pay VAT.
If you’re moving to Ireland it’s worth noting that on average, rental prices are slightly higher than the UK. However, if you’re buying property, Irish prices are lower (per metre²).
